I know I am one of the bloggers here, but I wanted to tell you one of my birthday experiences. First, let me start off by saying that I am adopted. I didn't really have birthday parties or even a cake when I 4 years old and younger. The foster parents didn't have time to throw me a party. I didn't have friends, and I was probably not going to see them ever in my life again.
I had my sister (Amy) going through all of that with me and probably more than I could remember. We both moved around a lot not knowing where we will land next or when we would find the perfect home. Life was really hard for us and no one taught us how to speak or read.My sister and I met this really nice couple. I sort of felt that they were going to be my parents someday.
My sister and I lived with this nice couple for a while. Then it came to my birthday. I had never really had a birthday before and didn't really know what it was. You had to have seen my face when they brought out a cake the size of my head with 5 candles on it (I was obviously 5).
I have to say, it was the best birthday and I have never forgotten it. A couple years later, when I was 7 years old, they finally decided to adopt my sister and I. That day, sitting in the waiting room, was the best day of my life. Knowing that I will actually, finally, have a real family that wouldn't leave me. I fight with my sister now, but I love her. I also fight with my parents a lot about everything, but I love them.
I know that was a long story, but I felt it had to be told. Thanks for taking time and reading my blog. Plz comment your favorite birthday experience.
